Back to NCAA MAIN

Underdog Scoring – To get points for Underdog Scoring a player must correctly pick a team to win a certain game as an underdog AND that team must win the game as an underdog (regardless of who they play). Points are then awarded based on Round Points. These points are in ADDITION to Regular Round Scoring!

UnderDog Scoring

Round 1 - 1 Xtra Point

Round 2 - 2 Xtra Points

Field of 16 - 3 Xtra Points

Field of 8 - 4 Xtra Points

Field of 4 - 5 Xtra Points

Finals - 6 Xtra Points

Example: Jerry picks Boston University(#16 seed) over Kansas (#1 seed) in a 1st Round game.

With Underdog Scoring, if Boston University (#16 seed) beats a Kansas (#1 Seed) a higher seeded team then Jerry would be awarded 1 point based on the underdog scoring system.

Round 1:Boston University(#16 seed) vs Kansas (#1 seed) - John Doe picks Boston & Kansas wins, John Doe gets no points

Round 2: Matchup is #12 SW Missouri St. vs #13 Delaware. John Doe picked #13 Delaware over #12 SW Missouri St. John Doe would get 2 points for underdog bonus. If #12 SW Missouri St. wins no points are awarded.

Field of 16: Matchup is #4 Louisville vs #1 Kansas. John Doe picked #1Kansas over #4 Louisville John Doe would get 0 points for underdog bonus.(JOHN DOE IS TAKING NO UNDERDOG RISK IN THIS GAME. HE IS PICKING A HIGHER SEEDED TEAM ON HIS SHEET). If he would have picked #4 Louisville and they win he would be awarded 3 xtra points on top of the points for that round.
